# Amazon FBA

## Overview

Amazon Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory is more complex than standard warehousing due to the various states inventory can be in (transferring between FCs, processing, reserved, etc.). Moselle simplifies this into a usable "Available" number for planning.

## How Moselle Calculates "Available"

For Amazon FBA locations, Moselle calculates the **Available** inventory by combining units that are currently pickable with those that are being transferred between fulfillment centers.

**Available = Amazon Available + FC Transfer**

* **Amazon Available:** Units that are currently pickable and fulfillable in an Amazon Fulfillment Center.
* **FC Transfer:** Units that are being transferred between Amazon Fulfillment Centers. Moselle includes these because they are owned by you and will be available for sale shortly, often before a new production order could arrive.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note on Discrepancies:** You might notice that Moselle's "Available" number is higher than the "Available" number shown in your Amazon Seller Central dashboard. This is because **Seller Central often excludes FC Transfer** units from their available count, whereas Moselle includes them for more accurate supply planning.
{% endhint %}

## Other FBA Inventory States

Moselle tracks other FBA states which you may see in detailed reports or filters:

* **Inbound:** Units that have been shipped to Amazon but not yet received.
* **Unfulfillable:** Units damaged or otherwise unsellable. These are **excluded** from the "Available" count for planning purposes.
* **Customer Order:** Units reserved for current orders.
* **Working:** Units being prepped or processed at the FC.

## Data Latency

Amazon reports data with a slight delay. While Moselle syncs daily, the data from Amazon's API might lag by a few hours. Always refer to Seller Central for the absolute second-by-second status if you suspect a discrepancy.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://learn.moselle.io/operations/inventory/amazon-fba.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
