# Stock Overview

{% hint style="info" %}
**Quick Answer:** The **Stock Overview** page shows your current inventory across every warehouse in one view. Open **Inventory** in the left sidebar to see summary cards — retail value, inventory value, active SKUs, and dead stock — above a searchable, filterable table of every SKU's on-hand and incoming units. Click any row to open that item.
{% endhint %}

## What is the Stock Overview?

**The Stock Overview** is your at-a-glance summary of what's in stock right now, aggregated across all of your warehouse locations. It combines high-level value metrics at the top of the page with a detailed, per-SKU inventory table below — so you can move from "how much inventory do we hold?" to "which SKUs make up that value?" without leaving the page.

### Key Benefits

* **One view of all warehouses:** Current stock rolled up across every location, no switching between warehouses
* **Value at a glance:** See retail value and inventory (cost) value of everything on hand
* **Spot dead stock early:** Surface inventory value tied up in SKUs that aren't selling
* **Drill into any item:** Click a row to jump straight to its item detail page

## Prerequisites

**Time Required:** 2 minutes\
**Difficulty:** Beginner

Before you begin, make sure you have:

* [ ] At least one warehouse connected with current stock data
* [ ] Your inventory data synced to Moselle (see [Set up your data sync](#what-if-i-see-set-up-inventory-data-sync) below if this is your first time)

## How to Open the Stock Overview

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open Inventory

Click **Inventory** in the left sidebar. Moselle opens the **Stock Overview** tab by default.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review your summary cards

The cards at the top summarize your current position across all warehouses. They update to reflect any filters you apply to the table below.

**Expected Result:** You see value and SKU-count cards above your inventory table, with a "Snapshot updated" time so you know how current the numbers are.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Explore the inventory table

Scroll to the **Current Inventory Levels** table to see every SKU. Use the filters and column controls to focus on what matters, then click any row to open that item.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## What the Summary Cards Show

The top of the page summarizes your current stock position. Each card reflects the table's active filters, so you can narrow the view and watch the totals update.

| Card | What it tells you |
| ------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **TRV (Total Retail Value)** | The total value of inventory on hand at its retail selling price |
| **TIV (Total Inventory Value)** | The total value of inventory on hand at its cost price |
| **Active SKUs** | How many SKUs have inventory records, including how many are currently out of stock |
| **Dead stock** | Inventory value (at cost) tied up in SKUs that have stock on hand but no sales in the last 90 days |
| **Top holdings by line** | Your product lines ranked by inventory value, so you can see where your stock investment is concentrated |

{% hint style="info" %}
**Reading the dead stock card:** A high dead-stock value means cash is sitting in inventory that isn't moving. Use it as a starting point for markdown, bundling, or discontinuation decisions. If the card shows a dash (—), your sales data isn't synced yet.
{% endhint %}

## Working with the Inventory Table

The **Current Inventory Levels** table lists every SKU and its current stock. You can filter, choose columns, and page through your full catalog.

**Available columns:**

| Column           | Description                                              |
| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **SKU** | The stock keeping unit identifier |
| **Name**         | The product name                                         |
| **Product line** | The product line the SKU belongs to (hidden by default) |
| **Sub line** | The sub line the SKU belongs to (hidden by default) |
| **Available** | Units currently on hand and available |
| **Incoming** | Units on order and expected to arrive |
| **TRV** | Retail value of the on-hand units for that SKU |
| **TIV** | Inventory (cost) value of the on-hand units for that SKU |

**To focus the table:**

1. Use the **Product line** and **Sub line** filter buttons above the table to narrow to a segment of your catalog
2. Use the columns control to show or hide **Product line** and **Sub line**
3. Adjust **Rows per page** (25, 50, or 100) and use the page navigation to move through your catalog
4. Click any row to open that SKU's item detail page

{% hint style="success" %}
**Tip:** Filter to a single product line to turn the summary cards into a line-level snapshot — the TRV, TIV, and active-SKU cards recalculate for just the filtered rows.
{% endhint %}

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What's the difference between TRV and TIV?

**Answer:** **TRV (Total Retail Value)** values your on-hand stock at the price you sell it for. **TIV (Total Inventory Value)** values the same stock at what it cost you. TRV is useful for understanding potential sales value; TIV reflects the cash currently tied up in inventory.

### What counts as dead stock?

**Answer:** Dead stock is inventory value, measured at cost, for SKUs that still have units on hand but have had **no sales in the last 90 days**. It highlights slow-moving stock where your cash is tied up without turnover.

### Why is a SKU showing as out of stock?

**Answer:** A SKU counts as out of stock when it has an inventory record but zero available units across your warehouses. The **Active SKUs** card shows how many of your SKUs are currently in this state.

### What if I see "Set up inventory data sync"?

**Answer:** If your warehouse data hasn't been synced yet, the Stock Overview shows a **Set up data sync** prompt instead of your table. Click **Set up data sync** to build your inventory dataset — this consumes Mo credits from your plan and then keeps your data refreshed automatically. Syncing runs in the background and can take a few minutes; you can leave the page while it completes.

### How current is the data?

**Answer:** Your inventory data syncs automatically each day (overnight in your account's timezone). The **Snapshot updated** label near the top of the page tells you when the current numbers were last refreshed.

## Troubleshooting Common Issues

| Problem                                 | Solution                                                                  | Time to Fix |
| --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------- |
| "Unable to load inventory data" message | This is usually temporary — click **Refresh** to try again | 1 minute |
| Table shows "No results" | Clear any active Product line / Sub line filters | 1 minute |
| Dead stock card shows a dash (—) | Connect and sync your sales data so Moselle can identify non-selling SKUs | 5 minutes |
| Values look out of date | Check the **Snapshot updated** time; data refreshes on the daily sync | — |
