Select the Planning feature on the Moselle menu to be redirected to your Scenario Plans.
Your active scenario plans will appear in a list positioned between your Master Scenario Plans and Previous Plans. From this list, you can select and view any desired plan. Each forecast file will include the following:
A name for the scenario plan.
Your MAPE score
The author who created the plan.
A date for when the plan was created.
A timestamp of when it was last updated.
Click on the Create Scenario Plan button to start a new scenario plan. On the planning page, there are three tabs that you can navigate; Forecast, Replenishment, and Data Uploads. Each tab will help you formulate your forecast.
To select a scenario plan, click on the three dotted button at the end of the scenario plan lined item, and click on "View and Edit."
You have three options when it comes to generating projections for your scenario plan:
Upload a plan of your own.
Generate a Bottom-Up Forecast using one of our machine learning models.
Generate a Top-Down Forecast that converts your revenue forecast to a unit forecast.
A common approach in Moselle is to select one of our machine learning models to forecast the next 12 months, export it, make edits, and then upload it back. This allows you to build a 12-month forecast in a matter of minutes instead of days or weeks.
Choosing the Upload your Plan option will prompt you the following two steps:
Download a template of your sales data
Upload the file
Once you download the template, it will display all your items across your channels, along with the number of months you've included for forecasting.
In the template, input your projections for the forecasted months across all items and channels. Once finished, upload the completed file during the second step of the scenario plan creation process. Once uploaded, click on Next for view your planning page table with the projections you have uploaded.
On the scenario plan flow, select the Use AI Forecast Models button to reveal options for both Top down and Bottom up approaches. Select the Bottom up approach and the flow will list four forecase models that you can choose. Select one of the forecast models and click "Generate Forecast" to incorporate machine learning projections into the planning page table.
Under the View drop-down menu, you can select any of the available models to prefill a forecast in your scenario plan. You can always change and update your model to customize your forecast.
Once a model has been selected and you want to save this forecast into your scenario plan, select the Automate drop-down menu, and click Generate a Bottom-Up Forecast button. This will allow you to overwrite and save that forecast to your plan.
Only select "Generate a Bottom-Up Forecast" if you want to overwrite all projections on the scenario plan using the AI model, as this will remove any previous forecasts that were uploaded.
On the scenario plan flow, select the "Use AI Forecast Models" button to reveal options for both Top down and Bottom up approaches. Select the Top down approach and you will then be redirected to enter your sales goals.
Within your sales goals table, data will be organized by channel and the number of forecasted months you’ve entered. Input your sales goals directly into each cell, or copy and paste an entire row of gross sales into the table. After completing this step, click the "Generate Forecast" button to transform your gross sales into unit sales projections. The planning page table will automatically update to display the converted data.
Under the Automate drop-down menu, choose "Edit Top Down Targets" to enter your revenue forecast. You can enter your revenue forecast by clicking into a cell, or copying and pasting your revenue forecast from a spreadsheet into all the cells.
After entering your revenue forecast, click on the Automate drop-down menu and select the "Generate Top Down Unit Forecast" button to begin converting your revenue forecast into a unit forecast. Once the conversion is completed, click on "Go Back" to return to the planning page table and view your new unit forecast.
Editing Scenario Plan
Under the File menu option, clicking on Rename will prompt you to enter a new name for the scenario plan. Click on the Update button to save the new scenario planning name.
Setting a Scenario Plan to Default
When you set a plan to default, you lock that scenario plan in as the Default Plan on your forecast outlook chart on your home dashboard. You can use this function to quickly compare how your forecast is performing against Moselle's forecast, last year's sales, and current year's sales.
Once setting a scenario plan to default, a green default icon will appear on your forecast card on your scenario plan selection.
Selecting this option will allow you to upload a forecast into a scenario plan.
Archiving A Scenario Plan
When selecting the archive dropdown selection, your scenario plan will be moved into the archive section. This will make it hidden from all of your active scenario plans.
We store your archived scenario plans if you want to view them again. If you wish to view or revive a plan, ask our support team for assistance at support@moselle.io
Exporting A Scenario Plan
When selecting to export your scenario plan, a CSV file will be sent to your email to download.
Change your forecast view between Units and Core Units.
Units will display all units sold across your sales, including bundle SKUs and raw materials.
Core Units will exclude all Bundle type SKUs from the table, displaying only the individual core SKUs.
Preview AI Forecast
This option will display all available AI Models. Choosing an AI model will prefill its projections in the scenario plan table. Learn more about our AI Models.
Edit Top Down Forecast
To Edit the top down forecast, click on "Edit Top Down Targets." This opens a table organized by channels, where you can input your gross sales directly. You can also quickly prefill monthly projections by copying your gross sales from your spreadsheet into the table.
Choosing this option will start converting your entered revenue forecast into units. If your top-down table already includes a revenue forecast, your scenario plan table will update to reflect a unit forecast.
Generating a Bottoms Up Forecast will put in place the AI model that you have selected. This means any changes you have made on the scenario plan will be saved.
Choosing to overwrite your scenario plan and apply AI Projections will replace all existing projections in that scenario plan permanently. Please review thoroughly before confirming to make these changes.
