Setting Up QBO Products

For Moselle to track sales accurately, every product you sell must have a corresponding Product entry in QuickBooks Online.

Why This Matters

Moselle links QBO Products to your SKUs to attribute revenue correctly. Without proper product setup:

  • New SKUs won't be detected

  • Sales data may be misattributed

  • Reporting and forecasting will be incomplete

When invoices use generic descriptions instead of linked products, Mo attempts to match sales to the correct SKUs. While this works in many cases, it isn't reliable when product names are similar or descriptions are vague.

Best Practices

Create a QBO Product for every SKU

Each product in your catalog should have a corresponding entry in QuickBooks Online, including:

  • Products sold across different channels (DTC, Amazon, wholesale)

  • Bundles and kits tracked separately from components

  • Retailer-specific products requiring separate tracking

Use QBO Products on all invoices

When creating invoices, select the specific Product from your list rather than typing a generic description. This ensures sales are attributed to the correct SKU in Moselle.

Review unlinked listings regularly

Check your Moselle dashboard for products that aren't being tracked. Verify that a matching QBO Product exists and is linked correctly.
